VHF-OTM Re-Configurable Antenna

Overview

John Ross & Associates, LLC in association with Titan - Aerospace Electronics Division (now part of L3) designed VHF-OTM Re-Configurable antenna for US Army CECOM. This antenna was intended as a possible replacement for the AS3900 whip antenna with improved gain and co-site performance. The antenna covered the 30-88MHz band using 13 states configured to switch in synchronism with a frequency hopping SINCGARS radio. The antenna states were designed with the aid of our proprietary GA-NEC program. A photo of the prototype enclosed in a radome is is shown below.
